I am working on a project right now where I get to contribute 40-50 of my favorite sayings and quotes. Many of you have told me that you often take your favorite T4D’s and hang them in your workplaces. I so appreciate it if you would one or two of your favorite quotes in the comment section of today’s T4D. Perhaps your favorite will be mine as well. Thank you www.kirkweisler.com/t4d

We must stop just “being” and instead strive towards “Becoming”… To be becoming means to make a choice… a daily choice to strive, to learn, to grow.. to purposely move towards that less comfortable place….. to CHOOSE to be AWESOME!

My favorite quote is from Jack Layton’s last words to Canadians (they still bring a tear to my eye and pride to my heart):

There are so many! I had to go back to my own notebook and re-read the T4Ds I’ve saved….. Extra fun to go back and get a HUGE dose of your wisdom today! Here are a few, in no particular order:
1) You posted this awhile ago - from the movie We Bought a Zoo:
“You know, sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage. Just literally 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.”
2) Your comments about Stephen Covey and restoring trust: “Make a promise and keep it.” repeat, repeat, repeat.
3) This one is from another blog I like: http://www.marcandangel.com/2012/11/09/25-things-i-would-tell-my-20-year-old-self/
“Love is a choice; it’s not magic. There is no such thing as ‘the one. You are not destined for any relationship other than the one you help create. Spend enough time with another loving person, and biology eventually kicks in. So use your head and find someone you really enjoy spending time with, who you don’t feel pressured to impress – someone who makes you feel loved, relaxed, and comfortable in your own skin.”
4) And a miscellaneous one from a picture someone posted on Facebook one day….”The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence.” ~Charles Bukowski
Oh, and don’t forget - anything from a guy named Kirk Weisler!
Happy Friday!

As a teacher, my goal has always been to teach my students how to obtain information they need by pursuing it on their own. When they no longer need me, I have done my job. That is why this is one of my favorite quotes, “To lead people, walk beside them. As for the best leaders, the people do not notice their existence. The next best, the people honor and praise. The next, the people fear; and the next, the people hate. When the best leaders work is done the people say, “We did it ourselves!” (Lao-tsu)

2. When I get sad, I stop being sad and be AWESOME instead. TRUE STORY. - This one is from Barney from “How I Met Your Mother” and I believe is just intended to be funny on the surface, but it’s speaks to the power of how one can control their own emotions and outlook on life at any moment.

So many quotes come to mind, some of which are an armlength away. These have all come from T4D, but may have been another’s quote, but I won’t always be able to give credit.
DO HARD THINGS
I am in charge of how I feel and today I am choosing happiness.
WHILE OTHERS Are….. by William Arthur Ward (This is a longer one but worth the time to look up. The point to this on is that day by day, what you do is who you become.)
Another long one that Kirk recieved from a T4D subscriber back in 2008 called “I Believe”.
I Believe
Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008
This was sent to me by one of you…..I thank you for it. -Kirk
I believe- that we don’t have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
I believe- that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I believe- that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.
I believe- that it’s taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I believe- that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I believe- that you can keep going long after you can’t.
I believe- that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I believe- that either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I believe- that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.
I believe- that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I believe- that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I believe- that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.
I believe- that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you’re down, will be the ones to help you get back up.
I believe- that sometimes when I’m angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn’t give me the right to be cruel.
I believe- that just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.
I believe- that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.
I believe- that it isn’t always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I believe- that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn’t stop for your grief.
I believe- that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
I believe- that just because two people argue, it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other And just because they don’t argue, it doesn’t mean they do.
I believe- that you shouldn’t be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
I believe- that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally . different.
I believe- that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don’t even know you.
I believe- that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you you will find the strength to help.
I believe- that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
I believe- that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.
I believe it’s important to keep believing - Kirk
Thanks Kirk for sharing these and so many more. I hope you will share the end result of your project.
