Talkers Block
“No one ever gets talker’s block. No one wakes up in the morning, discovers he has nothing to say, and sits quietly, for days or weeks, until the muse hits, until the moment is right, until all the craziness in his life has died down.” ~ Seth Godin
I have never used “Writers Block” as an excuse for not writing. This is probably because I don’t consider myself a writer. However, I have in the past made several excuses for not doing more writing than I do. I like Seth’s thinking here because he get’s right at the problem…which isn’t the writing, it’s the writer and more specifically the excuse.
We must stop blocking ourselves. We must say to ourselves something to this effect… “I will stop making excuses and start making a difference.”
(I have on occasion met a few people who could use some “talkers block”) ![]()

Yikes, I hope that isn’t me (most of the time)…in need of talker’s block.

I’ve made a promise to myself that I’ll write one blog post per week. And I’ve absolutely had writer’s block. So far, I’ve always managed to overcome it, but for me it’s not putting the words down so much as thinking of something new and interesting every 7 days!
I find I have good weeks and bad, and on good weeks I’m able to write several posts and then schedule them over the coming weeks. On bad I’m up to the wire on Sunday night and grasping for a topic.
I guess for me ‘writer’s block’ isn’t so much not being able to write, it’s feeling like I need to find something I hope everyone who might read it will find interesting. I’m confident I can write about any topic, but the topic may not always be something I think people will want to read.
