Perhaps his “head was in the clouds”? Or his mind was just “floating off into space.” I’m sure there was a “buzz” when he landed. Probably an “electrifying” experience. He definitely “sparked” some controversy. Given how it ended, I guess you could say he had “arrested development.” Rather than a “Field of Dreams,” Larry had a “Chair of Dreams.” Most of us just sit in our chairs dreaming, doing nothing.
