Very well said, and I've since caught your other clarification, which I wish I'd seen before writing you. I have to tell you that I am quite impressed that you respond personally to these comments. That, says a lot about you and your character. I did pick up on the context behind the statements, especially in the second email.

Believe me I've had my foot in my mouth more than once, and if I had been in the right frame of mind I, too, probably wouldn't have thought it was an attack. Anyway, all is well, and I am still a respectful reader. Again, thank you for taking the time to address me.
Thanks Kirk for this article. I plan to share it with all my grandchildren as a reminder to them, as well.

Good afternoon, Kirk!
Those of us who know you well knew your intentions, for the most part I suspect.

Just yesterday, while busy around the house, a broadcast of Joel Osteen's message was on the television in the next room. Coincidentally, his remarks were also about making sure that your circle of association includes people who are positive, people who are smarter/more successful than yourself, and people who, just by being themselves, challenge you to be better.

While I'll not align with all of his theology, I often relate to his perspective on life matters. I think it is not coincidental that I'm hearing the same message from a variety of sources. Thanks for being insightful and for challenging me to my very best.
